Rain, Rain, Go Away

We're having a very rainy week! It's rained every day so far and is supposed to continue for the next several days. We've had a very wet winter and so far spring is looking the same. The reservoir is so full now that it is easily seen from our kitchen window!

Adrik decided this afternoon that it was time to put on some rain gear, grab his new Spider Man umbrella and head out to the puddles. That only lasted for about 10 minutes before he was whining to come back inside, but I did manage to snap a couple of pictures. Jantz was napping and missed out on the "fun."





After Adrik came inside, he and I baked some cupcakes for him to take to preschool. They are having his birthday celebration tomorrow, even though it's four days early. So, Adrik helped me mix the batter and get them in the oven and then went down to snuggle up in front of "Lion King." He had told me previously that he wanted his cupcakes to have lions on them and that he also wanted them to have peanut butter chips on them. Well, I'm definately not a pro at cake decorating, so this was an interesting little challenge. I got them done, but somehow they don't look as cute in real life as I had them pictured in my head!



Adrik is also going to take 'Alex the Lion' (from Madagascar) masks to hand out to all his little classmates. He's SO excited!! After we drop him off at school, Jantz and I are going to me our good friends, Brittany and little Jason at the new play area at the mall, so I think it will be a fun morning.

Keil has started back to work on light duty. He is now 3 weeks out from his ACL replacement, and his knee and leg are still swollen badly. When he went into work on Monday he was afraid his supervisors might try to send him out on a mounted (driving) route, so he wore shorts and the ice cuff all morning. He said they took one look and knew immediately that it will be at least May before he's back full-time. Thank goodness! His physical therapy is going well though, the therapists are very impressed with his range of flexibility at this point, so that is great news.

Oh, and a little update on the transfer situation. Keil called Casper today and the postmaster told him that the inspections are going on right now! So, that is good news!! There is still the possibility that the district could refuse to give her the new route, but at least we're heading in the right direction. We also got a very immediate response by email from the Sheridan post master, and he has already requested the paperwork needed in order to consider Keil for a transfer; so we're taking that as a good sign. We're very hopeful that between the two offices we will know something within a couple weeks.

That's what's going on with us at this moment!
