Some of you may know that we are currently WAITING. That seems to be the theme of our lives at the moment. Keil has requested a transfer to Casper, Wyoming. We made the decision on our last trip home that we need to be closer to our families, and when we got home, we decided to check the list of transfer options. There was a position opening in Casper 20 minutes after we logged in, so we took that as a sign. The position closed on the 18th, and we still haven't heard a word. Keil was able to talk to the postmaster today, and apparently, she didn't even know that there was an opening. Ah, the workings of the federal government. The position was posted by the regional office, and the postmaster told Keil that if they want to transfer him, she'll sure take him. So, we wait. We do know that he is at the top of the list, and that Casper will have several retirements this spring, so wether it's within a month or two or not until next spring; a move is in our future.
We love Pocatello, and are making some wonderful friends. We really like our church and Adrik's preschool is great. So, why would we move? Well, as I said, we really want to be closer to our families. It's so hard on the grandparent/grandchild relationship to be so far apart. Also, as our parents begin to age, we feel that it will be important to be within closer proximity. Keil's father's health has not been good for quite some time now, and 2 weeks ago his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. We are not sure yet what her course of treatment will be, but we know that we'd like to be closer to home.
The boys are growing like crazy. Adrik has gotten so tall, but hasn't gained a pound, so is now wearing slim fit pants!! (mommy is jealous! lol) Adrik loves his preschool and asks to go every single day---which is tough because class is only on Tuesday and Thursday. The children in his class are so sweet and he even has a 'girlfriend.' Little Bryce is just adorable, she looks like Shirley Temple with a head full of wringlets! The other day, the boys and I went to Arctic Circle for lunch and Bryce was there with her dad and when we walked in she ran over and threw her arms around Adrik---and he didn't push her away! haha
Jantzen is all boy. He runs and climbs and explores and bangs and throws and kicks! He's beginning to talk, and his favorite new words are "mine" and "NO!" He also loves to ask "why?" although, he doesn't really seem to want an answer, I think he's just mimicking big brother!
We have been trying for quite some time now to give the boys a baby brother or sister (this will definately be the last!). Both Adrik and Jantzen came along quite quickly, so it's been surprising that this third one has taken so long. I've been suffering with chronic abdominal pain ever since Jantz was born, and my doctor finally decided it was time to figure out what was going on. I went in last Tuesday for a laproscopy, and the doctor found that I have endometriosis. It was on my uterus, all over my left ovary and on my left ureter. In addition, he found the ligament that holds my uterus up on the left side was, in his words, "completely obliterated," and he couldn't explain why. He was able to remove most of the endometriosis though, and told us that pregnancy should be no problem, so we are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping for the best!
I guess that's what's new with us. I'm going to post a couple pictures and a video of each of the boys. The one of Adrik, he's wearing a cowboy costume, that was actually one of my dance costumes from when I was little. There are two videos of Jantzen. The first shows him trying to climb the bed and getting frustrated, and the second will let you hear him say "balloon" and "mama."
In this picture of Adrik, he fell asleep standing up. He's been choosing not to nap quite often lately and this is the result! LOL
