Crazy Summer!

Wow, I knew it had been a while since I had updated here, but I didn't realize it had been over a month! Sorry!! :/ I do have (what I feel is) a legitimate excuse for my lack of updating though. Shortly after my last post, we received word that Keil has been approved for a transfer to Belle Fourche, South Dakota. Now, quite honestly, Keil and I had really not spent any time in Belle before this transfer approval. We didn't know much of anything about the town, and so we are not moving because of some great desire to be in this particular town. We are moving because we will be much closer to our parents this way (60 to mine and about 150 to his). Being in a much smaller office is also very appealing to Keil. Right now he chooses his summer vacation time from the leftovers after 45 guys senior to him choose each of their 3 weeks. In Belle, there will be 4 guys senior to him. And, as much as we truly love Idaho, the mountains and recreation here are just too much for the boys right now. The Black Hills will definitely provide us with much more kid-friendly adventures!

So, we got the word that the move was a go. Two days later, my mom came to meet the newest grandson and we spent a week scrambling to pack up all the "unnessecary stuff" in our house and getting it listed with a realtor. Then the 3 boys and I traveled back to South Dakota with my mom. We spent two weeks there visiting grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, great aunts and cousins. Keil followed us out a week later with the first moving truck full of stuff for a storage unit. We did some searching for a house to either buy or rent and didn't have much luck, but hopefully something will turn up.

Since we got back, it's been a non-stop whirlwind of home improvement projects, realtor showings and moving preparations. Throw a new baby into the mix and we've had a crazy summer!

July 26, My grandpa took this John Deere pedal tractor, broke open the front and put a little motor in it when my dad was very little. My sister and I also rode it when we were little, and my dad just got it running again for the grandkids!

Keison's great-great-great uncle gave this baby carriage to my grandmother when she was pregnant with her first child. My mom and all of siblings slept in it when they were babies. My mom and dad just had it all restored and Keison is the first baby to sleep in it since my aunt Nancy, 45 years ago!

August 12, Keison's Baptism. Our good friends, Dana and Ross are Keison's Godparents. We met them through Adrik; their son Joel and Adrik are "best buddies." We are going to miss all of them very much when we move!
